Just be yourself

I remember, a few days ago when actress Vidya Balan was being interviewed. Admiring her talent, the interviewer commented that there is nobody like Vidya Balan. Vidya instantly replied, 'but why anybody should be like Vidya Balan'? Nobody on the earth is just like you ; so be yourself.' I think this is a great message.
It is very easy to get influenced by others but it is difficult to get influenced by our inner thoughts. Most of the people behave in the way the others behave. We often get influenced by our near & dear ones, people surrounding us, superiors & celebrities we adore. To get impressed by a heroic personality is not at all an offense but to frame ourselves in others lifestyle is not worth appreciating.
Just because some salesman knocks at our door, are we going to buy the product just to increase his sales? Certainly not. Only when we are fully convinced about the utility of that product we shall think of buying it. A person smokes & drinks because his friends do so can not justify his vice. Just by aping others you are putting your body at a high risk. If your father is a doctor, it is not necessary for you to follow his footsteps unless & until your inner voice allows you to proceed on the same path.
The way we think others can't. Our inspirations are different from others. Our liking & disliking differentiate ourselves from others. Some students have a great inclination towards Maths & Science while some students develop hatred towards these subjects. Some are much better in Social studies than others. You can't measure everyone's caliber using the same scale. Some are very sharp at musical notes while some can sketch with more fluency. Some are admirably good at kitchen work while some are efficient in handling external affairs. Animals behave through their instincts and we people fail to listen to our instincts. The natural force that exists inside us gets hardly any motivation.
Because of peer, parental and/or social pressure many youngsters opt for demanding professional courses. Sometimes the calculations go wrong & frustration takes over you. Many of us do not take any efforts to explore ourselves. We have a treasure of things inside us but we always do the things at superficial level. To reach a desired goal it is essential for us to touch our instincts.
The moss gathered over water is the external tinge & not the real colour of water. If we wish to see the real colour of water we should take efforts to dive deep. We always give undue importance to shallow things which give our lives a fake colour.
Some of us follow certain customs, traditions just because others follow them. Most of the times it seems as if we have deliberately blindfolded our eyes.  Nobody wants to understand the exact reason for performing or following a particular act. We are just concerned with the outcome hoping that it works out smoothly.
As a human being we have a privilege to think in a better way. To shape our lives in the way we wish. To design our lives for our betterment. To raise our lives in such a way that every aspect of our life grows brighter & brighter. To make our lives more meaningful. To accomplish the unfulfilled desires. To nourish & enrich our soul. To satisfy our existence on earth. To give our-self  the feeling of contentment.
Your life is only & solely yours. Your existence on the earth is a reward.  Try to respect your life & put some efforts to uplift yourselves. Please do not embellish your spirit with artificial things that will snatch away from you the whole purpose of life.

  1. WOW..what an inspiring post!
this is so true! we get carried away by the perceived notions of success and of how we should be and undermine our own talent. It is so important to be in touch with yourself.
please do keep writing some posts in English too..:-)
